The Indiana Bellydance Collective has members throughout the state, and in an effort to better support happenings, events, public outreach, and instructors outside the Indy area, we have established a network of Regional Ambassadors. The Ambassadors act as local representatives of INBC. They handle local publicity for INBC events, do outreach within their communities, and are points of contact for both current and perspective members.
We are pleased to welcome two new Regional Ambassadors to the INBC team: Doni Palmer in Fort Wayne and Donna Carlton in Bloomington! They will be joining Laci Watson, who is located in French Lick.
Doni started her dance journey on her 40th birthday and has had amazing opportunities to study under world class instructors. She has performed multiple styles including classic Egyptian, American Cabaret, FCBD, Tribal Fusion, and ITS. She has also led multiple troupes and has been teaching since 2015. Contact her at donipalmer1969@gmail.com.
Donna promotes community cultural learning both as a performer and as an instructor. Thousands of students have taken her one-credit Indiana University classes or extracurricular classes. Her book, Looking for Little Egypt (published 1995), tells the story of Middle Eastern dance in the United States and how a notorious entertainer assumed the spotlight. She also performs with the band Indy Raqs on oud, guitar, vocals and dance. Contact her at allaboutbellydance@gmail.com.
